Description

Carrier RNA is an exogenous RNA molecule added to a sample during nucleic acid purification processes. It acts as a carrier or co-precipitant, facilitating the recovery and detection of nucleic acids, especially in low-yield or trace amount samples. Carrier RNA is typically derived from non-target species and is free from the nucleic acid of interest, ensuring it doesn't interfere with downstream analyses.

This product is Carrier RNA lyophilized powder, free from DNase and RNase contamination. It is compatible with subsequent routine molecular biology applications such as viral nucleic acid extraction, small-scale DNA extraction, and subsequent RT-PCR, RT-qPCR experiments.

Functions of Carrier RNA:

Enhanced Precipitation: Carrier RNA improves the efficiency of nucleic acid precipitation, aiding in the recovery of small amounts of RNA and DNA from complex samples.

Prevention of Irreversible Binding: In purification processes, carrier RNA helps prevent the irreversible binding of target nucleic acids to surfaces or columns, ensuring their efficient recovery.

Protection Against Degradation: Carrier RNA reduces the risk of nucleic acid degradation by RNases during purification steps, thereby preserving the integrity of the target RNA or DNA.

Increased Recovery: By enhancing nucleic acid recovery rates, carrier RNA enables more accurate quantification and downstream analysis of samples with low nucleic acid concentrations.

Instructions for Use:

Nucleic Acid Extraction Method (using Viral Nucleic Acid Extraction Kit, Catalog Number 19387ES, as an example):

Take 1 tube of lyophilized powder, briefly centrifuge, and add 310 µL of RNase-free ddH2O to dissolve into a 1 µg/µL working solution.
Then add 6 µL of Carrier RNA (i.e., 6 μg) to each sample lysate, and continue with the subsequent steps according to the instructions of the corresponding nucleic acid extraction product.

Precautions:

This product is for research use only.
For your safety and health, wear laboratory coats and disposable gloves during operation.
